Apipedagogy®: Education for Sustainability, Health, Empathy, and Nature
About the Project
Meet Institute for the Development of Empathy and Creativity Eneja, the organisation behind Apipedagogy®, an innovative pedagogical-apitherapeutical approach that connects children with health, nature, pollinators, human rights, and community through experiential learning. Through programmes such as API Kindergarten, API School, and the Enejin medoviti učni vrt (Honey Learning Garden), children explore the world of bees, biodiversity, and sustainable living through play, creativity, and sensory experiences.
Institute Eneja’s work contributes to the circular bioeconomy by linking education with biodiversity, pollinators, and nature-based products. Through initiatives such as the Beeyond Mushroom project, the institute collaborates with beekeepers, mushroom growers, schools, and rural producers to develop sustainable products, strengthen local value chains, and promote knowledge about ecosystem-based innovation.
Within the FoodCoP Startup Village ecosystem, Eneja Institute plays an important role in connecting educators, entrepreneurs, and community organisations. By sharing its pedagogical-apitherapeutical expertise and coordinating networks such as APIS RETIS – the Network of API Kindergartens and Schools, the institute helps build knowledge-driven communities that support sustainable food systems and environmental awareness.
