Meet Science 351, an Innovation Laboratory founded in 2018 and based in Penela, Portugal, dedicated to supporting businesses throughout the journey of creating innovative products, from more sustainable materials to more efficient and cost-effective solutions.
Working from idea to market, Science 351 provides comprehensive R&D support spanning the inception of ideas, meticulous planning, lab-based prototype development, market entry, and identifying funding opportunities, always with a mindset rooted in the circular economy.
Science 351 contributes to the circular bioeconomy through its work on sustainable materials, agri-food, and bio-based packaging - such as dissolvable packaging solutions - reducing waste and developing eco-friendly solutions for industry.
Hosted at the HIESE incubator, Science 351 actively collaborates with Penela’s Startup Village ecosystem and partners such as as IPN, connecting scientific innovation with the partners who can bring it to market.
Rooted in Penela, Science 351 creates strong local impact by contributing to job creation, talent retention and strengthening innovation in a low-density rural territory.
