About the Project
Meet Ekološka kmetija Kocjančič, a Slovenian organic dairy farm established in 1998 in Gotenica, Kočevje. The family-run farm specialises in organic milk production and dairy processing, including yogurt, cheese, butter, and other dairy products. It is recognised as one of the pioneering organic dairy farms in Slovenia, combining sustainable farming with local food production.
The farm’s work contributes to the circular bioeconomy through organic dairy farming, nutrient cycling, the reuse of organic residues, and sustainable land management, keeping resources productive within the farm and the local area.
Within the FoodCoP Startup Village ecosystem, the farm collaborates by supporting local food systems, knowledge sharing, and rural sustainability initiatives across the Kočevje area.
Rooted in Gotenica, near Kočevje, the farm creates strong local impact through sustainable food production, the preservation of biodiversity and traditional farming practices, and stronger rural economic resilience built on local value chains.
