About the Project
Meet Društvo Herbs, a community-based association from Kočevje, Slovenia, focused on promoting sustainable practices, local entrepreneurship, and the preservation of natural and herbal knowledge. It connects local stakeholders, supports grassroots initiatives, and contributes to rural innovation by encouraging collaboration between citizens, entrepreneurs, and public institutions, strengthening local resilience and place-based development.
Društvo Herbs’ work contributes to the circular bioeconomy by promoting the sustainable use of local natural and herbal resources and supporting bio-based, low-waste initiatives that keep value within the community and reduce environmental impact.
Within the FoodCoP Startup Village ecosystem, Društvo Herbs plays an important role in connecting local actors. By encouraging entrepreneurship and participating in community-driven innovation, the association helps build collaborative networks that support sustainable, place-based development in Kočevje.
